our first day started with slight drizzling.. however that didn't dampen our cloud9 mood =)

dear so excited about ducky and wanted to take a pic with it but it kept on running away~ haha!

waiting for our train

me~

dear~
the train is pretty similar to the ones we have back in singapore, except for the sitting arrangement which i cannot really get used to it.

the first destination early in the morning is the 国父纪念馆..

国父纪念馆 station

outside 国父纪念馆 station. the background is very nice actually, something like those typical autumm scenes from those soap opera, but the photo didn't turn out as expected..

exterior of 国父纪念馆
its basically a museum + library + exhibition hall. as i'm not really into history and stuffs, taking photographs is my main objective there..

the exhibits

do i look like the wax figurine? -.-"

long long list of wordings..

nice background?

whats the meaning of 博爱?

the guards changing shift every hour

us again~

taipei 101

国父纪念馆 - we are here!
after that is the taipei city hall & taipei 101. as today is the new year's eve, there will be a countdown party here where many celebrities will be here for this event later..

cute 7-11 volkswagon

kawaii~

infront of the stage.. can see the countdown poster behind?
was supposed to stay here for countdown but we are soooo tired to even walk another step by about 8pm. guess its best that we give the countdown amiss and go back to the hostel and rest instead...

artistic shot #1

artistic shot #2 - many are saying that this pic is nice, including myself!

us again! haha!
anyway taipei 101 is basically a high-end shopping mall with all the international designer brands to get clothes and accessories from. as its not our cup of tea, we didn't stay longer than an hour there and proceed to the other smaller shopping malls around.
however, we didn't forget to take some pics first =P

dear was saying that this is a 'waterfall'... lol

taipei 101 - we are here too!
oh yah.. must mention this donnut shop: mister donnut. MUST TRY! their donnuts are superbly nice! of coz good things have to wait, and i almost queued 15mins for their donnuts.. but its definitely worth the effort!

thumbs up to mister donnut! yummy!!
there is also the street performance in conjunction with the new year celebration =)

street performances

we are tired and get hungry easily.. so we need lots of food!

大肠包小肠 - interesting

杏仁茶 & 油条 - smells good but....

yucks! piece of crap that tasted so horrible which i insisted on throwing it away instead of wasting our precious space for better food. wasted our S$4.. =(
enough of the cityhall and taipei 101, we decided to head down to 师大夜市 for more food!
as we have nothing to do, we start to cam-whoring again.. lol

soon we are at 师大夜市, which is said to be the night market patronise by the undergraduates and teachers who stay around the university campus..

along a typical lane of the night market..
with our hungry stomaches, we settled for this...

dun see this steak + spag no up ok.. its one of the MOST DELICIOUS food i ever tasted during my trip in taipei hor! dun play play.. its worth every single cent of my S$6!

not forgetting delicious tako with nice wasabi mayo for S$1.50 with 6 pcs!!

and cutey strawberries!! they are everywhere that dear just cannot resist taking a pic of them!
the last pic for the day...

little piggy =) sooo cute~
happy piggy new year 2007!
